1.5 TON SERVO PRESS · BALL SEATING
Helm Pump Ball Seating Servo Press System
A 1.5 ton servo press system for stabilizing ball-seat contact in Helm Pump assembly components

System Overview
This assembly-process servo press system pre-seats a ball in the ball seat of a Helm Pump assembly component to improve contact stability. A 1.5 ton servo press performs the Ball Seating process using model-specific pressing counts, target positions and target forces.
Jig sensing automatically identifies the applicable model when the workpiece is loaded and applies its configured pressing conditions. After pressing, the actual position and force are checked against the specified tolerance range for automatic PASS / FAIL judgment. Process results can be stored as reports, with MES integration available when required.
The current system is configured as a semi-automatic machine in which the operator loads and unloads the workpiece. Depending on production requirements, it can also be configured for automatic feeding, pressing, judgment and unloading of preloaded workpieces.
Process Sequence
Workpiece Loading → Jig Sensing → Model Auto Detection → Model-specific Conditions → Set-number Pressing → Position / Force Check → Automatic PASS / FAIL → Result Storage → Workpiece Unloading
This built system retains operator loading and unloading as a semi-automatic process.
Key Functions
- 1.5 ton Servo Press
- Jig-sensing-based model auto detection
- Model-specific pressing count and automatic condition loading
- Target position and force control
- Automatic position/force tolerance judgment
- PASS / FAIL result processing
- Automatic ball usage count and replacement alarm
- Process report storage and optional MES integration
Semi-Automatic / Automatic Configuration
The built machine uses operator loading and unloading. Based on production volume, staffing, process layout and automation requirements, the system can be extended for continuous automatic feeding, pressing, judgment and unloading.
The automation level and workpiece supply method are defined for the customer's actual production process.
Jig Sensing & Model Auto Detection
The system senses the jig state when the workpiece is installed and automatically identifies the applicable model. It then applies the preset pressing count, target position and target force, reducing model-selection errors and maintaining consistent process conditions.
Position / Force Control & Model-specific Pressing
The servo press controls target position and force for each product model and repeats the press cycle for the configured count. Actual position and force are then compared with the target values and tolerance limits for automatic PASS / FAIL judgment.
Ball Usage Management
The system automatically counts ball usage and generates a replacement alarm when the configured usage limit is reached.
Result & Traceability
Position, force and PASS / FAIL results from the pressing process can be stored as reports. MES integration is available when production history and process-result management are required.
